Zuma and VHS Launch Central Texas Food Bank Food Drive November 27th!

Vandegrift High School and ZumaOffice.com Team Up For 7th Annual Holiday Food Drive.

We are excited to announce the launch of the 7th Annual ZumaOffice.com and Vandegrift High School Holiday Food Drive benefiting the Central Texas Food Bank which kicks off today. Sponsored by the VHS Boys Basketball Team, VHS Key Club and Four Points Middle School, the food drive has raised an astounding 12,000 pounds of food for hungry Central Texas during the holiday season.

VHS Boys Basketball Coach Cliff Ellis anticipates another banner year for the food drive with his players and families taking an active part in raising donations. “It’s hard to believe this is the 7th year for the VHS and Zuma food drive,” commented Coach Ellis. “What started out as an idea to get involved in the community by asking for canned goods from fans attending a basketball game has morphed into a big event for both VHS and Four Points Middle School students.”

The first couple of years the food drive generated several packed donation boxes for the Food Bank, and by year 3 students were donating up to 10 – 12 full pallet loads of food that required 18 wheel freight trucks to haul off the contributions.

“The Central Texas Food Bank really appreciates this food drive because in comes at a time when they really need the donations for the holidays. Zuma employees set up the boxes, print and hang the posters announcing the event, and collect all the donations at the end for pick-up,” says Greg Pierce, President of ZumaOffice.com. “Our whole company loves helping out because VHS and FPMS families are so generous with their giving. We all feel this truly makes a difference.”

The food drive runs between Tuesday November 27 through noon on Wednesday December 19th. Donation boxes are at the Front Office at VHS, and located in three classrooms at FPMS for anyone who’d like to get involved and drop off a donation. Zuma Annual Donation and Giving Back Update

Zuma was very excited to send our annual charitable donations in September, and here’s our annual Giving Back update for our customers.  Zuma was founded with the business purpose of giving back and making a difference through donating a significant portion of our profits to charity and volunteering our time.  Thanks to our loyal customers and the hard work of the whole ZumaOffice.com team, Zuma was proud to make our largest donations to date.

Since our founding, Zuma has now donated over $89,000 to great charities that do good work every day, truly helping those in need.  “We are thrilled the donations made for our fiscal year 2017 were the largest in company history,” said Greg Pierce, President of ZumaOffice.com.  “The charities we support were all extremely grateful, and we know that people’s lives will be improved from our contributions.  We just wished it was more.”

The SIMS Foundation provides local Austin musicians much needed health care services.

Zuma recently launched a new program called Zuma Business Class that includes lower prices on select office supplies, lower free shipping minimums, and more. Here’s a quick Q & A to help you decide if ZBC is right for you:

Q: Why should we join Zuma Business Class?

A: You get 5 – 15% off over 14,000 office supplies and janitorial supply items. This includes many ink and toner products including brands like HP and Brother. You also get free shipping with orders of $45 or more instead of our normal free shipping level of $75.

Q: What does it cost me?

A: There is no charge to join ZBC, and no confusing contract or commitment. All we asked is that you purchase a minimum of $400 per month in total purchases, and enjoy the savings.  That’s only $100 per week of our huge selection of office, break room and janitorial supplies.

Q: This sounds too good to be true. What’s in it for Zuma?

A: Zuma wants to sell more products to our current loyal customers. The Austin American Statesman featured an article this weekend highlighting giving back in Austin. Using statistics from a new report from Rodman and Associates on philanthropy in Austin, the article explains how companies are contributing to the community more than ever, and truly making a difference in people’s lives.
